Every day we have 33,000 decisions on average to make and the outcome of your life could change dramatically depending on what you choose for each of those decisions.
In this article, I am going to show you how to motivate yourself based on my experience from picking myself up off the depressed and unmotivated couch to huge success in life and business in a very short space of time.
A bit of background to set the scene:
In 2016 I was on the verge of depression and I knew something needed to change however I couldn’t find the motivation so I reached out for help and what came from this was a brand me, a totally different person with huge ambitions and a future to be excited about every day I woke up… I still feel like this today and it comes down to the routine I created.
So I’ve put together some key motivation strategies to help you keep yourself happy and focused on doing your best:
If you are not clear on what you want you will end up aimlessly wandering through life and before you know it your time is up.
Help yourself focus. …
Plan time, without distractions to be able to focus on your core tasks that will positively affect your life and take you closer towards your goals. For me, this is between 4.30 am and 7.30 am every morning.
Pace yourself. …
Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither will your new life however ticking off your daily routine (below) you will accelerate your results without burnout.
You have to have the core balance in place for everything in your life to be firing on point. There is no point spending loads of time in the gym to be fit and healthy and your bank balance suffering because you aren’t doing enough work. Similarly there is no point working your ass off and never seeing your kids. Likewise, you don’t want to be so unhealthy that you die at 45 and can’t enjoy the money you have worked hard for. BALANCE is the key 🔑
Location, location, location. …
For me, I like to travel and mix things up so I wanted to build a life that could operate from my phone.
Work on whatever I want, whenever I want from wherever I want. In order to do that I needed a business that makes money whilst I sleep… property was my choice.
Not enough people focus on life design, this is something you should all be focusing on to be truly fulfilled. What I mean by this is you have a plan of how your life should play out and you ensure your business/work, fitness and family life decisions are always in sync with that plan.
Get enough sleep. …
Sleep is individual however it is vital to understand your body and how much you need to work at your optimum. For me I use a Whoop band and I ensure that I get a minimum of 7 hours. As I wake up at 4.30am I typically hit my pillow around 9pm and I am in deep sleep by 9.30 pm.
Build a routine and healthy habits. …
This is the magic formula that wraps it all together.
Everyday is Groundhog Day for me between 4.30am and 7.30am however it empowers me to get shit done and move me forward. 7 days a week, 365 days a year… yes I do this on Christmas Day as well.

- Write down my goals
- Listen to a book for revelation
- Check my business KPIs
- Complete my #1 priority task
Eat and drink healthier. …
Changing my nutrition and educating myself on how this affects my mind and body has empowered me with energy levels I never knew existed and this has directly impacted my performance and ultimately my results in all areas of my life.
In summary, no one can change unless you have a true purpose and clear goals to aim for.
No one can stay on track if you don’t track your data and know where you are, where you have come from and how far you have to go.
Build a simple yet powerful daily routine and complete it every day and I guarantee you will be the success you have always visioned.
